...a story about three girls falling in love with Paris at first sight...
As Carrie would say - "I'm someone who's looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love. And I don't think that love is here in this expensive suite in this lovely hotel in Paris..."
24hours in a city of love, fashion, art, history, amazing food and wine...and so much more!
Waking up early to explore as much as possible those three totally chic and prepared girls from the beginning of the story went out to meet Paris and fell in love with it!
"...they were dressed from head to toe in love, the only label that never goes out of style..."
A train ride away from the hotel and there they were, right under the Eiffel tower! It was right there, in front of them!
On a fogy cloudy autumn morning girls had their French breakfast under the Tower, coffee, hot chocolate with nutela crepes and delicious croissants and blueberry jam!
A day couldn't have started better!
Bonjour mademoiselles let's walk through the streets of this amazing city... D'accord!
...Through the streets you could only have seen in the movies, tv shows, listen about in the songs or red in the books...Amelie, From Paris with love, Midnight in Paris, Moulin Rouge, scenes from Sex and the city, books like The Da Vinci code or Madame Tussaud and more...And now they were looking at those streets from the top of the Eiffel tower!!!
Of course excited as they were they went on the top, it was early in the morning so it wasn't crowded, or it was just luck they had, and have enjoyed one of the most famous views in the world!
It wasn't that clear cause of the clouds but anyway it was a special feeling walking around I can tell you that ;)
The tower was build in 1889 and it has been the tallest man-made structure in the world for 41 years, it is the most visited paid monument in the world as well!
With the map in their hands that one day tour continued from the Champ de Mars, to the Jena bridge that connects the Tower to the Trocadero across the river Seine.
(you just can't escape it) :)
Following Kleber avenue to the Arc de Triomphe... Which was built to honor the victories of Napoleon Bonaparte and it is actually the end of the Champs Élysées avenue. (can't not mention those history facts as amazing as they are)
Getting closer the sun began to show between the clouds so they have decided to climb up there as well and have another spectacular view of the Avenue Des Champs Élysées - the most beautiful and famous avenue in the world and one of the most expensive strips of real estate (in the world!) The name is French for Elysian fields - the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology.
Merveilleux!
They were apparently so charming that they got their tickets for free, somehow :) (merci beaucoup) and climbed those zillion stairs all the way to the top leaving them breathless not only from the view :p
Eiffel behind them and the most fashionable almost 2kilometer long street ahead of them! Just waiting for them to have their own 2kilometer long cat-walk under those yellow-falling-leaves-chestnut trees :))
Ooh la la!
Soaking up that few rays of sunshine and taking some memorable photos those three 'frenchy' wannabe looking mademoiselles took a long walk all the way to the beginning of the Avenue, stopping for some more croissants and baguettes (can't getting enough of those :)), souvenirs, christmas songs on the street 'till they arrived to the Place de la Concorde and further away The Louvre Museum!
Walking down the Avenue you could've hear them repeating two sentences of the day - I can't believe that we are finally here and I so love my job! :)) with the biggest smiles on their faces!
(safety first?!) :)
As it was getting late there was no time to enjoy the sunny afternoon on the bench in the Tuileries park but only a few minutes to lock their love on the Pont des Arts! Khm...
So smooshy and disgustingly romantic act but they just couldn't help it! At the end, a little superstitious never hurt anyone right? :)
So there they were again, one American, one Irish and one Croatian girl writing their names, lovers, quotes, hearts, dates, kisses (what so ever) on a small padlocks, locking them on the bridge, making wishes and tossing their keys in the river at the sunset...
''...some love stories aren't epic novels, some are short stories but that doesn't make them any less filled with love...''
Wow, blaaah, I'm starting to feel sick even writing this but let's not ruin the romance :p
It was funny believing in those kinda things for a second, and after all it's all about having a good time! And if nothing else that's what they had - a whole day of fun in Paris! (I just love the way it sounds every time I write PARIS!) :)
Buuuut, just to go back to the story for one more second...there are apparently 2 of those bridges in the city - Pont des Arts is for your committed love and then there's the other one, Pont de l'Archeveche which is for your lover!
Hmmm... Did they chose the right one? :) Sure hope so cause you never know... ;)
"Later that day I got to thinking about relationships.
There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started and those that bring you back.
But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself.
And if you can find someone to love the 'you' you love, well, that's just fabulous."
- Carrie just says it all!
Hoping for another Paris very soon, and another one after that, and maybe another two or three after that, and so on...they got back to Dubai... :)
Au revoir et bonne nuit...
XO XO
P.S. ''They say nothing lasts forever, dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style...''
I want to dedicate this post to my beautiful girlfriends (most speacially to my Miss T with whom I'll be walking these streets one day soon!), to my sister and to...Mr.Big? :)
